Research Track

Chandler is interested in health systems strengthening programs to improve cancer care in low resource settings. During his research year, he will be working with faculty at the Butaro Cancer Center of Excellence in Rwanda, studying the epidemiology of cancer as well as treatment outcomes with a particular focus on Wilm’s tumor. He will also spend time working on the oncology wards in Butaro. He hopes to apply lessons learned from coordinating complex care for rural populations in Alaska while studying the implementation of treatment protocols in Rwanda.
