Bio

Dr. Christine Johnston is an Associate Professor in the Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine at University of Washington.  She is an infectious diseases physician who performs clinical studies of herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection focusing on the intersection between viral pathogenesis and host immune responses, with the ultimate goal of developing successful vaccines and medications to prevent and treat HSV infections.  She is also the Medical Director of the University of Washington STD Prevention Training Center, which is part of the CDC-funded National Network of STD Clinical Prevention Training Centers (NNPTC).  She has served as the Associate Program Director for the UW ID Fellowship program since 2018.
