Dr. Pottinger went to medical school at Yale, Internal Medicine residency and chief residency at University of Colorado, Tropical Medicine training at LSHTM, and ID fellowship at UW. He is a Professor in the UW ID Division's Clinician-Scholar Pathway. He is Director of the ID Fellowship Training Program. He also directs UWMC Montlake's Clinical ID Section and General ID Clinic, and co-directs the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. He attends on the UWMC inpatient General ID Consult Service and General Medicine Teaching Service. He has chaired the IDSA Education Committee, and is named a Top Doctor by his peers in Seattle.
