Surveillance for notifiable conditions; disease control and outbreak response; clinical and public health management of hepatitis C infection; and, bio-emergency (E.g., Ebola, novel/avian influenza, MERS, biological terrorism) preparedness and response. We also administer and manage the child vaccination program in King County, providing vaccine, clinic support and technical oversight to healthcare providers.
Opportunities for projects and/or research include evaluation and/or development of existing or new surveillance systems, analyses of existing communicable disease surveillance databases, evaluation of public health prevention and intervention programs, foodborne enteric diseases, immunization program issues and policy, and training in disease/outbreak investigation.
