Fighting Antibiotic Resistance
The World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the White House and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have all called for a national plan of action to slow the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Emerging and reemerging infectious diseases
To advance the Center for Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases (CERID). CERID is responsible to protect Seattle against infectious disease threats. To purchase equipment and supplies for research, develop vaccines and diagnostics in UW Medicine's Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
