RFPU-NW Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)

Residents and fellows joining accredited UW training programs will be represented by the Resident and Fellow Physician Union – Northwest (RFPU-NW).  The RFPU-NW Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) informs your salary, benefits, and working conditions.  You can find the current CBA and additional information on the UW Labor Relations website.

Compensation

All our Fellowships (ACGME and non-ACGME), under our Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, use compensation schedule for RFPU-NW members (ACGME Programs)

The UW Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program provides these additional benefits:

  • QI project non clinical time during Y1
  • ITE Exam (years 1&2)
  • Professional Development Stipend ($450 per year; years 1&2)
  • Paid Chief Opportunity Y2 (Chief Fellows relay perspectives, challenges and needs of the fellows to program leadership in a fair, respectful, and unbiased way serving as a strong link between the fellows, faculty and administration)
  • Travel funds ($1,000 per year; years 2&3)
  • Training Grant Core curriculum course expenses covered
  • Funding for classes at School of Public Health or Epidemiology through tuition exemption or for Master Degree programs through T32 funding
  • DAID Klebanoff & Stamm Award (the purpose of this award is to support Y2 Fellows’ pilot research; fellows need to apply)
  • Paid Moonlighting Opportunities
  • NIH Loan Repayment Program (https://www.lrp.nih.gov/): Fellows may apply for the NIH LRP which provides up to $100,000 over a two years in return for a commitment to engage in NIH mission-relevant mentored research

  • DAID Summer Picnic (Faculty and Fellows community building)
  • DAID Kirby Dinner (Each year, the William M. M. Kirby Visiting Professorship in Infectious Diseases brings a leading expert in the ID field to speak to the ID Fellows and Faculty about their career path at a Division-wide dinner. The Visiting Professor also gives Grand Rounds at UWMC)
